Warranty / Return Information Section Return to the top Hassle Free Returns: Any type of return requires prior authorization, so please call Customer Service at (800)759-9060 and we will be glad to help you. See below for the return type that applies to you. When you call, we will issue you a "Return Merchandise Authorization Number" or RMA#. This number is to be written on the outside of the package. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned to you. Please note that the RMA# expires 14 days after it is issued, so be sure to get you package returned to us within that time. Return to the top Warranty Returns: Premature product failure under normal use, or defects caused by errors in manufacture that occur or are detected within 1 year from the day of purchase, will be replaced with an identical item. Please note that the bulb-hour rating refers to the average bulb lifespan under normal conditions. The bulb-hour rating is for information purposes only, and does not extend the 1 year warranty. Environmental factors, such as wind, sun, humidity & severe weather may shorten a products lifespan. Replacements will be shipped immediately unless otherwise specified. You will not be charged for the replacement. However, we may want the defects returned to Holiday Direct - at our expense (See UPS Call Tags). In this case, if we do not receive the defective product within 14 days, you will then be charged for the replacement. Holiday Direct will pay the replacement shipping charges and we will use the same shipping method as on the original order. If you wish to upgrade the shipping method for a faster delivery, it is at your expense. Return to the top Ordering Error Returns: If you ordered the wrong item or ordered too many - no fault of ours - the item may be returned for a full refund within 14 days. You are responsible for all shipping charges. Your original shipping charges are not refundable. Returned items showing signs of being installed and/or used will not be accepted. The returned item must be unused and in it's original packaging. Return to the top Fulfillment & Shipping Error Returns: If you receive the wrong item due to our error, we will make arrangements to have the wrong item returned to us (See UPS Call Tags), and we will ship you the correct item, all at no charge to you. Return to the top UPS Call Tags: When items are to be returned to Holiday Direct at our expense (such as warranty defects and items that were shipped to you incorrectly), we will either issue a UPS Call Tag or mail you a pre-paid UPS address label - your choice. If we issue a Call Tag, a UPS driver will come to your door and pick the package up. The driver will have the shipping labels. All you have to do is have the package ready. UPS generally makes 3 pickup attempts. -
Problems with Call Tags sent to Residential Addresses: UPS drivers usually come during normal business hours but they may come as late as 7:00 PM. We have no control over the day, or time. If no one is generally home during the day, sending a Call Tag to your home may be futile. We can send a Call Tag anywhere. Business addresses work best. If you are willing to take the package to work with you, or take it to a friends place of work, we can send the Call Tag to wherever the package is. If we mail you a pre-paid UPS address label, simply put the label on the package and drop the package off at any UPS Store or UPS drop-off location or give the package to any UPS driver. Optionally, it may be more convenient for you to ship the package back yourself. In this case, we will gladly reimburse you for the shipping, but you must let us know what the shipping charges are. Return to the top 1 Year Limited Warranty on all Products: All items are warranted against manufacturer defects and premature failure under normal use for 1 year from the date of purchase. If you have a defective product, we'll take care of it. Please give us a call and we will gladly issue you a RMA #. See "Warranty Returns". Items that are damaged due to improper mounting, rough handling, electrical overloading, immersion in water, and/or having broken bulbs cannot be exchanged and are not returnable or refundable and void any warranty. Connecting too many light strings end-to-end or using staples to mount light strings will damage the light sets and will void any warranty. All warranty returns are inspected to determine the cause of failure. National Electrical Codes classify "Christmas lighting" and "decorative lighting", as "temporary lighting". National electrical codes allow "temporary lighting" products to be installed for up to 90 days. Temporary lighting products are not intended for, or designed for permanent or extended installations. Products that are installed permanently, or are installed continuously for 90 days or more are not covered under warranty, as such installations violate national electrical codes. Please note that the bulb-hour rating refers to the average bulb lifespan under normal conditions. Environmental factors, such as wind, sun, humidity & severe weather may shorten the lifespan. When bulbs are exposed to direct sunlight, some fading is expected. Anything left in the sun is subject to fading, including colored bulbs. If this is an issue, we recommend using "clear" bulbs.
